Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Overview
This policy explains what information RAGScholar (https://RAGScholar.com) collects when you use the site, how it's used, and who it's shared with. RAGScholar is a free tool with no user accounts or logins — this policy covers what happens with the details you type into the form and any file you optionally upload.
2. Information we collect
| What you provide | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Topic, field, methodology, citation style, author name(s), affiliation, and any additional instructions you type in | Sent to our AI provider to generate your draft paper |
| An uploaded data file (.csv/.xlsx), if you choose to provide your own data | Read in your browser and its content is sent along with your request so the AI can reflect your real data in the Methodology and Results sections |
| Basic usage data (pages visited, general location, device/browser type) via Google Analytics | To understand how the site is used and improve it |
We do not require an account, and we do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information (e.g. health data, government IDs) — please avoid including any personal data about yourself or others in the topic, instructions, or uploaded files beyond what's needed for your paper.
3. How we use your information
- To generate the structured research draft you requested
- To detect and prevent abuse of the service
- To understand aggregate site traffic and usage patterns
We do not sell your information, and we do not use what you submit to train our own models.
4. Third parties we share data with
To generate your draft, the details you submit are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by OpenAI's own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic, which sets cookies in your browser. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle that data.
5. Data retention
6. Cookies
We use cookies solely for Google Analytics, to understand aggregate traffic to the site. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the tool will still function without them.
7. Your rights and choices
Since we don't store your submitted content ourselves, there's typically nothing on our end to access, correct, or delete beyond analytics data. If you have questions about analytics data or anything else covered here, email ragscholar@gmail.com and we'll help however we can.
8. Children's privacy
RAGScholar is intended for students, researchers, and academics generally, and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
